Mae Jean Hartleroad (McKinney)

Mae Jean (Hartleroad) McKinney, 92, of Carmi passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi. She was born in Fox Township, Jasper County, IL on June 26, 1926 the daughter of Lawrence William and Ella Ewing (Monts) Hartleroad. Jean married Stanley Wilson McKinney on June 1, 1946 and he preceded her in death on March 24, 2016. She was a graduate of Olney High School, was a homemaker, a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Carmi and a loving wife and mother.

Mae Jean McKinney is survived by four daughters, Nancy (Manuel) Collias of Scott Depot, WV, Pam Drone of Carmi, Vicki Wilson of Hudson, IL, and Jana (Ernie) Grace of Marion, IL; two sisters, Vera (John D.) Hurn of Olney and Faye (William) Lincoln of Washburn, IL; a brother, Bobby (Nancy) Hartleroad of Kansas City, MO; 10 grandchildren, Natalie Zellers, Stanton McVay, Mark Drone, Patrick Drone, Aaron Drone, Cassandra Mattoon, Amanda Thiessen, Benjamin Wilson, Brian Eldridge, and Chris Eldridge; and many great-grandchildren who she loved.

Mae Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Harold and Dale Hartleroad; a sister, June Brown; two sons-in-law, Paul Drone and Steve Wilson; and two grandchildren, Bevin McVay Kister and Shawn McVay.

A Memorial Service held at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with burial in St. Polycarp Catholic Cemetery in Carmi.
