Betty Sterchi, 93, of Olney, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Burgin Manor in Olney, IL.  She was born on May 6, 1924 in Olney, Il, the daughter of Samuel and Ethel (Gard) Cralle.

Betty graduated from Olney High School in 1943. She married Donald Umfleet who was killed in WW II leaving one daughter, Sharon Brooks. She married Dale Sterchi in 1948 who passed away in December 2010. They were blessed with four more children. She is survived by all five children, nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She was a home maker and a member of the Home Extension for many years. She attended Saron United Church of Christ and most recently Elm Street Christian Church.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Sharon Brooks of Olney, IL; son, Dennis Sterchi and wife Diane of New Palestine, IN; son, Alan Sterchi and wife Susan of Olney, IL; son, Roger Sterchi of Morton, IL; daughter, Kendra Sager and husband Dennis of Charleston, IL; grandchildren, Tracy Fulk, Tony Brooks, Trina Sterchi, Jamie Jennings, Eric Sterchi, Jessica Sager-Hunt, Brittney Ciciora, Wesley Sterchi, Tyler Sterchi, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, second husband, five sisters, Norma Wheat, Marjory Poorman, Virginia Stevens, Eloise Harmon, and Geneva Wenk. 

A graveside service at Crest Haven Memorial Park, with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
