Lloyd Ledeker

Lloyd Albert Ledeker, 80, of Olney, formerly of Calhoun, died Tuesday, January 8, 2002, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.  Burial, with full military rites, in Crest Haven Cemetery near Claremont.

Mr. Lededker was born on March 17, 1921, in Richland County, the son of Albert and Ethel (Shipley) Ledeker. He married Victoria A. Madden on February 21, 1946. She survives.

He was a member of the Ruritan Club, Calhoun Community Club, American Legion and VFW and was well known for making chowder. He served in WW II from 1942 to 1945 in the European Theatre, first in Casablanca in Africa, then Corsica, Sardenia and Germany. After the war, he farmed and ran a dairy farm. He worked for International Shoe Factory for 36 years, Kex, Pairie Farms and Richland County Courthous for 9 years before retiring in 1987. Over the years, he was responsible for the Richland and Calhoun cemeteries.

Mr. Ledeker is survived by his wife. Victoria of Olney; daughters, Darlene and Harold Angle of Chauncey, and Aneta and Jim Wilson of Noble; sons, Leo and Pam Ledeker of Parkersburg, and Lee and Carol Ledeker of Racine, Wis.; a sister, Ruth Crane of Olney; six grandchildren, David and Bryan Angle, Scott, Kenney and Keith Wilson and Bradley Ledeker; two step-grandchildren, Patti Shupe and John Jobe; six great-grandchildren, Mat, Angie, Austin, Carlie, Payton and Jordan; three step-great-grandchildren, Casi, Lance and Connor; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Ray, Byrl, and Ivan, and three sisters, Agnes and Opal and infant sister, Rosa Mae.
