Jean Jennings

Jean Jennings, 88, of Olney, died Monday, January 9, 2012, at his residence.   Funeral services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with Reverend Beth Tickner officiating. Burial in Ebenezer Cemetery in rural Olney.

Mr. Jennings was born October 21, 1923, in Richland County, the son of Charles C. and Gertrude (Slichenmyer) Jennings. He married Joan Raber on July 31, 1949. She survives.

He was a used pipe dealer. He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and an Honorary Shriner.

Mr. Jennings is survived by his wife, Joan Jennings, of Olney; son, Dennis Jennings and wife, JoAnn, of Olney; daughter, Debra Fehrenbacher and husband, Bart, of Olney; sister, Joy Miller and husband, Glen, of Olney; grandchildren, Amy Gerhard, Lori Anderson, Angela Wong, Dana Jennings, Edward Piland, Bill Piland, Crystal Midwood, Marie Tye, Fred Kobbe Jr., Brittany Horn, Michael Brown and Daylon Fehrenbacher; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Evan, Micah and Stacy Gerhard, Thomas Anderson, Emmett Wong, Quentin and Kaleb Midwood, Henry Tye; Maycee and Bayley Horn; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Gertrude Jennings; four infant children; one daughter, Cathy Jo Kobbe; two sisters, Lois Wettrau and June Snider; and one brother, Charles Edward Jennings.
