Gerald Brinkley

Gerald Virgil "Doc" Brinkley, 78, of Chrisman died at his residence Tuesday June 6, 2000.  Funeral services at the Scott-Bolen Funeral Home with Reverend Richard Mick officiating. Burial in the  Woodland Cemetery of Chrisman.

Mr. Brinkley was born May 14, 1922 in Olney, the son of Otis and Ethel (Utz) Brinkley. He married Phyllis Bell April 6, 1942 at St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada and she survives.

He was a retired pipe fitter. He was a member of Chrisman United Methodist Church, Olney Masonic Lodge #140, Plumbers and Steam Fitters #132 of Terre Haute, Ind. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force in World War II.

Mr. Brinkley is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Chrisman; two sons, Jerry L. Brinkley, Denver, Colo. and William F. Brinkley of Chrisman  two daughters, Peggy S. Tingley of Reno, Nev. and Betty J. Garner of Greensboro, N.C.; five brothers; one sister; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Brinkley was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
