George F. Fehrenbacher

Dr. George F. Fehrenbacher, 80, of Wyoming, Ill., died Monday October 1, 2001 at St. Joseph Nursing Home in Lacon. Funeral Mass at St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Wyoming with Reverend Robert Rayson and Reverend Patrick Collins officiating. Cremation will be accorded after the service.

Dr. Fehrenbacher was born on June 5, 1921 in Bogota, the son of Charles and Elizabeth (Drewes) Fehrenbacher. He married Barbara Dewey on June 24, 1946 in Champaign. She survives.

He is a World War II Army veteran serving as a First Lieutenant in Field Artillery in the European Theater. A graduate of University of Illinois with a B.S. Degree, he also graduated from it's veterinary college. He practiced veterinary medicine in Wyoming until retiring in 1986. Prior to that, he taught agriculture at Mansfield High School in Mansfield. He was a Wyoming Bank & Trust Co. board member, retiring in 1999; a member of Phi Eta Sigma, Alpha Zeta, University of Illinois Academy of Veterinary Medicine and  a member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church.

Dr. fehrenbacher is survived by his wife, Barbara Fehrenbacher of Wyoming; two daughters, Margot Fehrenbacher of St. Paul, Minn. and Anne Haught of Perry, Kansas; two sons, Richard Fehrenbacher of Peoria and Bruce Fehrenbacher of Bradford; two grandsons; four granddaughters; and three sisters, Cleo Kermicle of Olney, Marie Ryan of Greenbriar, Tenn. and Dorothy Kovacic of Ramona, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
