Fred Spieth

Fredrick Spieth Jr., age 53, of 11 Hunley Drive and one of the communities finest persons, passed away suddenly at the family residence early Sunday morning, June 2, 1974.  Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney.

Mr. Spieth was born April 11, 1921 in Olney, the son of Frederick Spieth Sr. and Angeline Towne Spieth. He married Eleanor Evans on August 12, 1942. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion, the Elks Club and the Richland Country Club. He served in the U.S. Air Force with the rank of Captain.

Mr. Spieth had been associated with his father and brother in the operation of the Spieth Studios. Following the death of his father three months ago, he and his brother continued to operate the business. Fred possessed a quiet and extremely friendly personality and his reputation for fairness and honesty endeared him to many people.

He had a longtime membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Olney and served the church in many capacities.

He leaves his wife, Eleanor; two sons, David C. Spieth, a student at Brigham Young University at Provo, Utah and Larry Joe Spieth at home. He also leaves his mother, Mrs. Angeline Thompson of Lawrenceville; his step-mother, Mrs. Erna Spieth of Olney; a sister, Mrs. Iva May Robinson and a brother, James Spieth both of Olney.
