Robert (Bob) Foerster - Class Of 1966

Robert (Bob) Foerster

Robert Foerster Class of 1966Former Richland County Sheriff Bob Foerster died Monday afternoon after his vehicle reportedly became stuck in snow while delivering newspapers. Deputy Coroner Jeff Gray said Foerster was pronounced dead at 4:13 p.m. at Richland Memorial Hospital.

Gray said he responded to the hospital and not to the scene of the incident, but was told that Foerster's vehicle became stuck in the snow somewhere south of Claremont. He was told that Foerster left the vehicle and then collapsed. Gray said it is his understanding that others saw him collapse and that he was transported from the scene by ambulance.

Gray said an investigation into the death is continuing. He said it appears to be due to natural causes or weather-related. He said this was not conclusive, however.  An autopsy revealed the death was due to a coronary event.

As you can tell , Bob had many, many friends . Many havwe good comments and stories about him . My story would be about he tried to keep my brothers in line --he might not have succeeded all the time --but Lord knows , he tried !

Rest in God's Peace, Bob !   And for his family , I know you are going to miss him . He had so much to share with you !

Bob was a great man, and even though we often found ourselves playing on opposing teams, as it were, I always had great respect for him. He will be missed by many.
