Sandra Whitney

Sandra "Sandy" Whitney, 65, of Olney, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Carmel, IN (I.U. North).  Services at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home with burial in Crest Haven Cemetery in rural Claremont.

She was born on November 20, 1951 in Olney, IL, the daughter of S.C. and Mary Katherine (Runyon) Whitney.

Sandy enjoyed traveling, helping others, volunteering, and making afghans for family and friends. She liked to work out in the flower garden and feed the birds and squirrels. Sandy was a friend to everybody and had a dry and keen sense of humor. She was selfless and put others before herself. Sandy loved to be surrounded by friends and family, the more the merrier. She loved a houseful of people. Sandy had a strong Christian faith and was a member of The Church of the Nazarene in Olney and had been attending services at The Church of God.

She is survived by her sisters, Dianna (Bob) Jennings of Martinsville, IN, Sharon (Galen) Mendenhall of Newton, IL, Tracy (Bill) Griffith of Killeen, TX, and Kathy (Atallah) Ahmad of Olney, IL; half-sister, Joan Markert of Frostproof, FL; five nieces and one nephew, Theresa Gosc, Jaime Mendenhall, Amber Knowlton, Ashley Hill, Kelsey Nelson, and Khalid Ahmad; and a grand niece, Aria, and a grand nephew, John Aden; and son, Chris (Zoe) Breeden of Freedom, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sally Whitney; and brother, Randy Whitney.
