Ralph E. Carter, 69, of Claremont passed away on November 17, 2017 in Vincennes, IN. Services at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home, Olney with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Flat Rock, Illinois.

Ralph was born August 19, 1948 in Fairfield, IL son of Leslie E. and Ornetta (Barnhart) Carter.  He attended grade school in Mt. Erie and graduated from ERHS in Olney.   

Ralph served his country in the Army and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart in Vietnam. Ralph will be remembered for sponsoring 24 years of benefit Poker Runs for children in our community and Shriners Childrens Hospital.

He is survived by his son, Floyd Wayne Carter; daughters, Chelsie (Jeremy Taylor) Carter and Dana Watson; 7 grandchildren; one brother, Charles Floyd (Gerry) Carter of Dundas; one great grandchild; nieces, Karen Free, Lori Rudolphi, and Lisa Jackson; also nieces and nephews, Denise Lyke, Jeff Weger, Jana Coonce.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Eleanor Burnett, two brothers, Darrel Ray Carter and Les Carter.
