Gene Williams

Gene Williams, 62, of Calhoun, Illinois passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at The Heart Hospital of Deaconess, in Evansville, IN.  Gene was born on December 16, 1956 in Fairfield, IL, the son of Ernest Jr. and Mable (Biggerstaff) Williams.   

Gene was a hard-working good father who worked for Champ Labs for 36+ years as a press operator. He loved his family and he loved the Special Olympics athletes. He volunteered as a coach for the Olney Rebels alongside his mother for 25+ years. Gene enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. He also participated in The Royal Rangers with his sons through the Assembly of God Church. Gene was a trustworthy and loyal friend and when he gave his word he would always come through.

Gene is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth "Jeannie" Cochran and fiancé John Fulk of Watson, Il; son, Bobby Williams of Calhoun; son, Kyle Williams and wife Amy of Olney; mother, Mable Campbell of Calhoun; brother, John Williams and wife Karen; brother, Dennis Williams; sister, Melissa "Jane" Campbell; grandchildren, Lucas and Shane Cochran, Olivia and Aleah Fulk, Kyla, Taylor, Hannah, and Allyson Guthrie; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and stepfather, Richard Campbell.

Services at the Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with burial in Calhoun Cemetery.
