KILLED IN ACTION ~

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Chaplin received word Tuesday night from the War Department that their son, Pfc. John H. Chaplin, age 22 died from wounds received in action on Okinawaw May 11, 1945.

Pfc. Chaplin entered the armed forces in October 1942 and was a member of the 96th Division of the 10th army.

Besides his parents, he is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Hugh Erwin of Chicago, Mrs. Vincent VanCleve, Mrs. Lloyd Shaw and Pat Chaplin of Olney, three brothers, George with the U.S. Navy, Jack with the U.S. Army and Carl at home.
