Brad Billington - Class Of 1973

Brad Billington

Osie Bradford Billington, 63, died on July 23, 2019 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.  Brad was born on October 22, 1955, to Osie L. and Dorothy J. (Wells) Billington, in Olney, IL.

Brad loved his family and friends.  He was an avid fisherman who loved taking fishing trips with family and friends to Rainbow Trout Ranch.  He also enjoyed watching sunsets at his farm.  Brad had many friends and was always willing to give anyone a hand up in life.  He graduated from East Richland High School and then Lincoln Trail College with a degree in Petroleum Engineering.  His love of the oilfield began at age 18 as a roughneck and that led him to own and operate OJ Oil, Chief Well Service, and Midwest Pipe.  He was a member of Masonic Lodge 140 and the Olney Petroleum Club.

Brad is survived by his sons, Osie Jordan (Jackie) Billington, of Olney, and Mitchell Bradley (Brooke) Billington, of Decatur; mother, Dorothy Billington, of Olney; sisters, Pamela (Galen) Schwartz and Kimberly Billington, both of Olney, and Dixie (Jay) Gammon, of Johnsonville, IL.  He is also survived by step-grandchildren, Brock and Brayden Diel; niece, Sara Korinek; nephews, Justin Schwartz and Chris Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Osie L. Billington, and grandparents, Herschel and Corine Billington, and Fred and Ella Wells.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Brad left this life far to young and he will be missed by all who knew him. He was always nice to me and I have many fond memories of the time I spent with him.

Living in the Wilson Hall dorm at SIU, building an engine for his Blazer at the Precision shop and spending summer nights crusing East Fork on his dad's pontoon with as many friends and cold ones as it could hold and still stay afloat to name just a few. He could always put a smile on a friends face. Condolences to the family......
