Deana Lyn (Carter) Helfrich, 51, of Martinsville, died Sunday, November 2, 2003 at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson.  Funeral services at the Markwell Funeral Home in Casey with Reverend Kevin Small officiating. Burial in Greenup Cemetery.

Mrs. Helfrich was born on June 5, 1952 in Camp Breckenridge, Kentucky the daughter of N. Dean Carter and Marilyn Virginia (Williams) Carter Kuykendall. She married Robert Helfrich in 1997 in Martinsville. He survives.

She was a 1970 graduate of East Richland High School in Olney and was a member of Casey Moose Lodge.

Mrs. Helfrich is survived by her husband, Robert Helfrich of Martinsville; four stepchildren, Shawn Kendal, Dawn Eich, Danny Helfrich and Robin Helfrich all of Crown Point, Ind.; her father, Dean Carter and his wife, Faye of Carmi; a sister, Carrie May of Troutville, Va.; her stepfather, Roy Kuykendall of Olney and seven step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother and a sister, Pamela Jo Reed.
