Gerald L. Stevens, 71, of Parkersburg, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at his residence.  Gerald was born on October 10, 1946 in Edwards Co., IL, the son of Earl and Ruth (Knackmuhs) Stevens.

Gerald was active in the Southern Illinois Pigeon Club where he served as secretary and treasurer. He had a passion for flowers and enjoyed feeding the birds and the squirrels in his yard. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed listening to the St. Louis Cardinals games and local sports games on the radio. He was a member of the Parkersburg Christian Church.

Gerald is survived by his brothers, Robert (Lynn) Stevens of Parkersburg, Monte (Jane) Stevens of Parkersburg, and Melvin Stevens of Effingham; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gilbert Stevens.

Cremation Rites were accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 28, 2018, at the Parkersburg Christian Church.
