John Warren

John Warren, Jr., 58, Fairfield, formerly of Olney died Monday April 30, 1990 at his home.  Services at Johnson Funeral Home in Fairfield with Rev. Brad Henson and Bro. Carroll Kakac presiding. Burial in Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield.

Mr. Warren was born on March 14, 1932 in Alma, the son of John E. and Rachel (Mayberry) Warren, Sr. He married Mattie L. Anderson on January 22, 1953 in Olney. she survives.

He was a partner in Warren Oil Well Testing Service in Fairfield. He was a member of the Christian faith and a 1950 graduate of Olney Township High School.

He was also a member of the Elks, American Legion, Eagles, all in Fairfield; the Illinois Oil and Gas Association, the Olney Petroleum Club and he served in the United States Army from 1952-1954 during the Korean War. He was also given the first award from the Illinois Oil and Gas Association for an Oil Field Service Co. in 1987.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Mrs. Mark (Martha John) Hodge, Fairfield and Mrs. Michael (Brenda) Newby, Fairfield; four brothers, Don, Noble; Jerry, Olney; Bill, Clay City and Bud, Fairfield; two sisters, Ruth Warren, Olney and Phyllis Amerman, Clay City; four grandchildren, 29 nieces and nephews and 22 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
