Robert L. "Bob" Jones, 57, 525 W. Main, Olney died Saturday May 7, 1988 in John Cochran Veteran Administration Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.  Services in Summers Funeral Home with the Rev. Millie Sloan presiding. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery with military graveside rites by Olney veterans organizations.

Mr. Jones was born March 22, 1931 in Olney, the son of Leroy and Genelle (Atcheson) Jones. He married Ann Bowlby July 12, 1952 and she survives.

He was owner and operator of Bob Jones Trucking.

He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. He was a member of Midwest Truckers Association and was on the advisory board; was a member of the Olney Masonic Lodge 140 A.F. & A.M.; the Olney Eagles; B.P.O.E.926; Olney American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). He was a Korean War veteran with the U.S. Marine Corps.

Survivors include two sons, David L. Jones and his wife, Gwen and Darnall L Jones all of Olney; a daughter, Mrs. Greg (Darva) Jones, Olney; a brother, Charles Jones, Olney; two sisters, Marjorie Beehn, West Salem and Marilyn Goff, Newton; his mother, Genelle Jones, Olney and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.
