John Fritschle

John H. Fritschle, 66, a Glenview resident since 1958, died Oct. 22, 1999 at his home.

He was born March 14, 1933 in Olney, Ill., received a bachelor's degree from Indiana University and was drafted into military service where he played trombone in the 324th Army band. He earned a master's degree in music from Northwestern University and conducted high school bands. He left teaching to enter the real estate world, involving himself in many projects in Glenview. Mr. Fritschle was a founding member of the Kiwanis Club of Glenview and helped establish the Himalayan Institute, a worldwide organization specializing in holistic health.

He also helped Glenkirk, an organization for the handicapped, establish its presence in Glenview and later rented his house to the agency for use as a group home.

Survivors include his wife, Millie; a daughter, Julie; and a son, Brad.

A memorial service was held at the Glenview Community Church, 1000 Elm Road.
