James L. "Jim" Stivers, 61 of Calhoun died Tuesday July 1, 1997 at his residence.  The body was cremated. Memorial services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Rev. Mike Baker officiating.

Stivers was born November 19, 1935 in Richland County, the son of Lawrence and Ovella (Mugrage) Stivers. He married Lily Wing April 22, 1967.

He was a U. S. Army veteran, worked in construction and was a member of VFW, American Legion, AmVets, Elks and Eagles.

He is survived by his mother; wife; one daughter, Kellie Thomas at home; one brother, Larry Stivers of Olney; one sister, Karen Stewart of Yates City; long-time friend, Pat Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; two sons, Larry and Gary and a daughter, Susie.
