Robert "Bob" Murphy, 83, of Claremont, died on February 16, 2018 at his residence. He was born on January 12, 1935, the son of James Murphy and Mildred (Madden). He married Carolyn Palmer on Septermber 2,1955 in Chauncey, Illinois. She survives him.

Bob worked for Illini Builders for 34 years as a brick mason. Then he went to the Court House as maintenance. He liked to hunt and fish. He was active in the Claremont community until his health declined.

Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carolyn Murphy of Claremont; daughters, Janice (Ken) Beavers of Claremont, Dianne (Bill) O'Neil of Lockport, IL, and Connie of St. Louis; grandchildren, Kaleb Beavers of Claremont, Kassie (Josh) Benton of Charleston, IL, and Nolan O'Neil of Lockport, IL; brothers, Jim Murphy of Bridgeport, IL and Terry Conour of Olney; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patsy Tucker. 

Funeral services at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home, Olney with burial at Crest Haven Cemetery, Claremont.
