William Kapper - Class Of 1953

William Kapper

bill kapper class of 53William (Bill) Clement Kapper, 80, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at IU Health Hospice House.   A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Bloomington.

Bill was born July 17, 1935, in Olney, the son of Neil and Johanna Kapper. He married Anne Montgomery. She survives.

He was proud to serve his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Bill had a long career as an electronics technician and purchasing agent in Bloomington, working for Sarkes Tarzian and ATR Coil Company.

Everyone who knew Bill was aware of gentleness, devotion to his family and faith, his work ethic, his quick wit, and his ready smile and laugh. Fewer knew he was a harmonica player, master woodcrafter and a writer who left us these words in which to take comfort: “Whose hands are these, I wonder, so gentle, yet so strong. I wonder to what kind of man these guiding hands belong. I know His heart is saddened when He sees me in my plight, just as His hands will give me justice with all their strength and might. Yes, this man is always with us, each and every day. His hands will always guide us, each in our own way. We needn’t ask whose hands are these, nor who can this man be. The hands belong to Jesus, the man from Galilee.”

He is survived by his wife, Anne Kapper; daughter, Lisa Wrasse; son-in-law, John Wrasse; granddaughters, Anna and Lucy Wrasse; brothers, Jerry, Jim and Lester Kapper; and sisters, Eileen Beuthien, Janice Morgan, Marjorie Blunt and Mary Dowty.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Neil and Johanna Kapper; his brother, Edward Kapper; and his sisters, Ethel Jean Stacy and Judy Crosby.
