Marianne Houser, 79, of Iuka and formerly of Olney passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. Funeral services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Herald officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney.
Marianne was born in Olney, December 19, 1933 to William and Blondeana Worrell Houser.
Marianne graduated from East Richland High School in 1951. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Olney, Beta Sigma Phi, Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, and Richland County Republican Party. Marianne enjoyed being around family and friends, she was a very social person. She also enjoyed music, bingo, dancing, and geneology
Surviving are sister, Jane L. Bateman of Flora; brother, William R. Houser of Iuka; nieces, Shelley Steber of Olney and Sissy Leggett of Clinton; nephews, Steve Bateman of Olney and Chip Barche. Several great nephews and great nieces, including great-great nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Pat Barche.

I remember Marianne, as a teenager or early twenties. I was a child and she ran around with my Aunt Barbara Weiler Lewis, who let me tag along with her sometimes. Marianne was very jovialand life of the party.
