Ronnie Hockman - Class Of 1951

Ronnie Hockman

Ronnie Hockman, 77, of Conway, Ark., went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, after a lengthy illness. He was born November 9, 1933, in Olney, a son of the late Frank “Jim” and Corajohn (Turpin) Hockman.

Ronnie was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Conway, Ark., and was a United States Army veteran, stationed in Germany during his service. A graduate of Olney Township High School, he and his family moved to Conway, Ark., in 1952. He retired from FMC (now Snap-on Tools) in Conway, Ark., after a service of 18 years. He also worked for International Shoe Factory for 27 years and after retirement he worked at Kroger on Oak Street. Ronnie spent many hours on Lake Conway since its opening and Lake Beaverfork, catching his limit on many a day. He enjoyed bowling on a league in Conway, Ark., for a number of years, but his true passion was being a lifelong, number-one Chicago Cubs fan.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 33 years, Sally (Watts) Hockman; daughters, Cindy (Hockman) Drye, Sheri Smith and Keri Brewer, all of Conway; Ark.; grandchildren, Louis Poole, Tyler Poole, Olivia Poole, Brandon Loudermilk and Mattison Brewer; as well as a number of nephews and nieces, and many friends.
