Steve Shultz - Class Of 1963 VIEW PROFILE

Steve Shultz

Stephen C. "Steve" Shultz, 62, of Jasper, Ind., passed away Sunday, September 2, 2007 at his home after a long battle with cancer.  Burial at Fairview Cemetery in Jasper, Ind.

Mr. Shultz was born June 3, 1945 in Olney, the son of Charles and Velma (Linder) Shultz. He married Wanda Wilkens on July 29, 1967.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, serving as an usher for the church. He was an avid runner, and he bowled for the Jasper City League for 33 years. He graduated from Eastern Illinois University and spent four years in the Air Force from 1968 to 1972. He worked for Kimball for 35 years as Director of Financial Systems.

Mr. Shultz is survived by his wife, Wanda Shultz of Jasper; one son, Greg Shultz; one daughter, Stephanie Shultz; one sister, Helen Helm of Quincy and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Margaret Glunt.

Steve died of cancer a few years ago. He was a marathon runner, running in the St. Louis, Indianapolis, Chicago, and Boston marathons.

He and his family settled in Jasper, IN, where he worked for Kimball, International, as a financial accounting systems analyst, and was responsibe for writing many of the programs which Kimball used world-wide.

His wife, Wanda, graduated Newton highschool, and continues to live in Jasper. Their son Greg and his wife and 2 grandsons, works for Kimball and lives in Jasper. Their daughter, Stephanie, lives near Cincinatti, and is head of Human resources for International Paper Company.

Shirley Jean Brown (Runyon) (1964)

Steve and my husband, Richard were best friends....we all three worked at Mike's Ice cream parlor on the west side.

We spent much time together as friends, parked on main street just watching everyone drag main street....

Steve was a great man and a good friend.....
