Alvin E. Zuber, 72, of Olney, passed away on January 21, 2018 in Indianapolis, IN. Funeral services at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Olney with burial in the Church Cemetery.

He was born on August 27, 1945 in Olney, IL, the son of Cletus and Agnes (Weiler) Zuber. He married Carol Rennier on June 29, 1968 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Ste. Marie, IL. She survives him.

Alvin was a self-employed carpenter and small time farmer. He enjoyed working and spending time with his grandchildren. Oftentimes he would take the grandkids on tractor, three-wheeler, and mower rides. He would also take them fishing at ponds on his property. He loved doing little projects in his shop, especially for family and friends.

Alvin is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carol Zuber of Olney; daughters, Shirley Moore and husband R.D. of Columbia, IL, Tracy Harper and husband Steve of Vincennes, IN, Valerie McVaigh and husband Brian of Calhoun and Jessica Hoke and husband T.G. of Chauncey, IL; grandchildren, Taylor Hunt, Travis Zuber, Zac Harper, Nate Harper, Kaleb Harper, Lucas McVaigh, Brock McVaigh, Norah Hoke, and Oliver Hoke; sister, Charlene Mott of Loda, IL; mother-in-law, Lelia Rennier (whom he lovingly called "Ma Ranie") and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lucille Rosinski and brother, Eugene "Gene" Zuber.
