Charles L. Michels

Charles Lewis Michels, 67, of Millstadt, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Jefferson Barracks Hospice Center in St. Louis, Mo.

Services at Strauss-Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt with Rev. Shane Bishop officiating. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis with full military honors.

Mr. Michels was born October 14, 1945 in Olney, the son of Joseph and Mamie (Messer) Michels. He married Deanna L. Wilson. She survives.

He was employed at Holiday Tours, Inc. in Caseyville as a motor-coach driver and by Millstadt Community School District as a bus driver. He was a member of Olney AF & AM #140 Masonic Lodge, Shriners and Christ Church in Fairview Heights.

Mr. Michels is survived by his wife of 17 years, Deanna L. Michels, nee Wilson; his children, Rodney (Susan) Michels, Kimberly (Bradley) Alexander, Lynsey (Andrew) Honegger and Ryan Hudak; his grandchildren, Brandan Michels, Gunnar Michels, Reid Bowen, Peyton Alexander, Parker Alexander and Ainsley Honegger; his brothers, Tom (Leann) Michels and Terry (Joyce) Michels; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mamie Michels.
