Jeanne Alice Wilson (Vieke)

Jeanne A. (Wilson) Vieke, 80, of Fort Branch, IN, passed away peacefully at her home on August 25, 2019.  She was born on February 26, 1939 in Olney, IL to the late James and Agnes (Scully) Wilson.

Jeanne was a registered nurse, having worked at Weber Clinic in Olney, IL, Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN, Wirth Hospital in Oakland City, IN and finally retiring as school nurse at the South Gibson School Corporation after 23 years of service.  She was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Snake Run, IN, where she was the director of Christian Education and a member of the St. Bernard Alter Society.  She was also a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers’ Sorority.

Jeanne is survived by her loving husband, Paul F. Vieke of Fort Branch, IN, 3 children, David (JoAnn) Vieke of Maryland, Paul Joseph (Cami) Vieke of Evansville, IN and Thomas J. (Donna) Vieke of Haubstadt, IN.; a sister, Sara (Darryl) Fabick of St. Louis, MO.; brother John Wilson of Idaho Springs, CO; 8 grandchildren, Briana Vieke, Megan Vieke, Alicia (Chris) Harmon, Ericka (Klint) Obert, Alysa (Justin) Kiesel, Mathew Vieke, Camden Vieke, and Kenna Vieke; and 9 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial held at the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Snake Run, IN. with burial in the church cemetery.

The family request that any donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease.

Iam very sad to hear about Jeanne passing.As a class mate with fond memories of Jeanne.She always had a smile for everyone. My prayer for her family and friends. Phyllis Cummins

Shirley Scherer (Holt) (1953)

I baby sat with Jeanne and her sister sally when they were small.  She was always a sweetheart and a good happpy child.
