Shirley J. (Semple) Snider, 80, of Olney, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Burgin Manor in Olney.  Services at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home with burial in Dundas Cemetery.

She was born on March 30, 1937 in Jasper Co., IL., the daughter of Merritt D. and Evelyn B. (McDowell) Semple.  She married Russell H. Snider on October 30, 1955.  He preceded her in death on December 18, 2011.

Shirley worked for Charleston Engineering for over 20 years. She was a faithful member of Mt. Gilead Church, was church clerk and taught Sunday School for many years. Shirley loved flowers and kept a beautiful yard. She enjoyed attending Gospel concerts with her husband and friends. On Sundays, the family would gather at Shirley's house for dinner. Shirley had a special place in her heart for her grandson, Johnathan.

Shirley is survived by her son, Randall Snider and his wife, Christine, of Bloomington; daughter, Sherri Snider, of Olney; daughter, Tammy Harmon and her husband, James, of Olney; grandson, Johnathan Harmon, of Olney; sister, Carolyn Kermicle and husband Paul of Dundas; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Memorials can be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
