William "Bill" A. Ervin, 72, of Hanford, Calif., passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at his daughter's home in Anderson, Calif. He was formerly of Calhoun and Olney as well as Salinas, Calif. He had been battling cancer for several years.

Bill was born to Mary Elizabeth Brady Ervin (Bartley) and William Ervin on November 28, 1939, in Martinsville, Ind. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Rita, and half-brother, David Bartley.

He served in the U.S. Navy and was employed for many years with Firestone and Bridgestone Tire Company as a supervisor.

Bill is survived by three children, a daughter and two sons and eight grandchildren in California. He is also survived by a sister, Janet Ducey, of Riverton.

Remains were cremated and will be entered at a later date with his wife in Salinas, Calif.
