 Judy McGillivray, age 76 of Monticello, Illinois, formerly of Olney, passed away January 27, 2017 at Arbor Rose of Monticello. Graveside services at Crest Haven Memorial Park in rural Claremont, IL.
Judy was born April 29, 1940 to Ralph and Helen (Sterchi) Burgener. She married John McGillivray and he preceded her in death March 5, 2003.
Judy loved animals and spending time on the family farm. She enjoyed music and in her younger years she played the saxophone. Judy took pleasure in nature and preserving the environment.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann McGillivray of Champaign, IL; one uncle and several cousins.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Jean Shaw (Shafer) (1961)
I remember Judy as being my mentor in band (1957-1959). She was a senior and I was a freshman. She was always friendly and helpful and encouraged me. I am sure she was a kind and loving mother and will be greatly missed. Jean (Shaw) Shafer.
Joseph Hane (1958)
Judy and I became special friends after I brought my family back to Olney one year on vacation and saw her at her flower shop. During our conversation we found out that unbeknownst to each other, we both had lived in the same California city at the same time. Judy and my wife got along real well.
We only got to talk at the class reunions and really enjoyed seeing each other
I was looking forward to seeing her at our 60th reunion and was totally shocked and saddened to learn that she had passed away.
