Darrell Eugene Navolt, 78 passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023. He was born September 1, 1944, in Olney, Illinois to Eugene Dallas Navolt and Mildred (Totten) Navolt.

Darrell graduated from East Richland High School, Olney, IL and served in the United States Army after graduation. As a Sergeant in the Army, he was a rifle sharpshooter earning an Army Occupation Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Most of his service years were held as a Military Police Officer at CheckPoint Charlie in Berlin, Germany.

Darrell married Connie Gorrell on February 14, 1966, and had two daughters; Cara Sneed (Jason) and Dawn Navolt; and granddaughter, Jenna Grace Sneed.

He also leaves his siblings, Dallas (Beverly) Navolt of Raleigh, NC; Sue Peck, Mildred Navolt and Tom (Amanda) Navolt all of Champaign, IL.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Connie (Gorell) Navolt.

Darrell & Connie moved to Chattanooga in 1976 where he attended Tennessee Temple University and graduated with a Masters of Religious Education. He worked for 24 years at Gilman Paint Factory and retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee in 2007.

A graveside service was held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, Chattanooga, TN.

The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at TN Oncology, as well as the doctors, nurses, and CNAs at CHI Memorial Hospital for the care given to our dad.
