2018 LTA Recommendations

2018 Lifetime Achievement Candidates

Interactive Page

Purpose of Survey: To make the First Step of the LTA Program Easier, Resulting in many Suggestions!

For the 2018 awards your directors plan to honor four recipients, one posthumously and three live – be they alumni or past or current RC district employees.  We are asking for your suggestions; suggestions, not nomination.  We need your help in finding candidates as with your help our net will stretch out over many years.

Indeed, as we continue to add classes as time is passing, (and we founding directors continue to age), your thoughts become more and more important.  We’ve honored many from our age group and, frankly, need to expand into a larger time pool!  (To see a list of those already honored click here: List of Honorees).  (http://www.erhsalumni.net/List-LTA-Hall-of-Fame.htm)

As in the past five years, the ceremony will be held in the Olney Holiday, the afternoon (usually 1 to 3) of September 29th.   And you are invited!

DIRECTIONS

  1. During the month of June, extending to July 10th, you are encouraged to participate in this search by typing the following information into the appropriate interactive window below.  We are often asked how we define “Life Time Achievement.”  We don’t.  You do by recommending someone as a great person who achieved a lot.
  2. First identify the person you are recommending: if an alumni, name and class year; if an employee, position and years of service (Don't have to be exact).
  3. Next summarize the service.  If the TAC selection committee wants more information we will be contact you.   (You might ask others to add supporting comments. It is an interactive page.)
  4. End your post by identifying yourself, such as name and class.
  5. Keep in mind that if the individual you suggest ends up being one of our four 2018 recipients, you surely will want to join us (Optional).
  6. If you return to the survey and find that another alum has posted the person you would like to recommend, just add your thoughts!  You know, like on Facebook where we pile on our good wishes adding to those already published.
  7. This type of interactive file is called a ‘survey.'  A survey by its nature is a “Search” and so if you think of another person you’d be proud to recommend, then add him or her (See second window). Or if, when you return to this TAC page, you find someone has suggested a great person, add your opinion!  “More” can mean “better” with surveys.

Note 1:  If you’d be happy if we contacted you about your suggestion(s), be sure your phone number and/or email address are correct as posted in the “Details” page of your registration pages (Hidden to all but you and the administrators).  And you could state your interest in your recommendation.

After you have added your recommendation or added to another alums, click "Submit" at the bottom of the page.  You're done!  Thanks!

Thank you for helping us honor our educators and alumni.

Committee Actions

  1.  For now:  We will be following your posted suggestions with great interest.  We, too, will be researching (always checking out comments about classmates in old Olneans).  We love to find tiny details about people that have been long forgotten.  One example is the title of a newspaper columnist and her column used by a senior years ago writing about romance on campus.   The name?  “Sparky’s Heart Beat.”
  2. At some point we committee members will shift to serious research, such as asking people, including TAC members who have made suggestions, for more information.   We, also, privately in committee, will begin to rank the suggestions.
  3. Likely by middle August, we’ll begin contacting our list of desired candidates for their acceptance.
  4. Late August or early September, we’ll publish our list, sharing with you TAC members and the public.  As in the past, we will promote the event within different classes holding reunions and locally.

Note to reunion committee chairs:  if your reunion is meeting that last September Saturday, you might want to think about all of this seriously.  If someone from your class has been selected as a candidate:  you and your classmates will likely want to attend and that could affect your planned events.  Maybe you’d like to work with us.  You are welcome!

So to repeat:  After you have added your recommendation or added to another alums, click "Submit" at the bottom of the page.  You're done!  Thanks!
