Feb 14 Valentines - Everette

Happy Valentine Week, TAC Tigers!

Happy Days to all 1,977 TAC members, this Second Blast of this eighth year of our scholarship program!  The new donation total is $3,812.82.

To see the current list of donors click on the drive total or the picture of Janet.   Please see my comments below about yet another, brand new, way to donate.

From Janet Everette, Treasurer, Tiger Pride Alumni Association (TPAA)

I was apprehensive about serving on the board of Tiger Pride Alumni Association when Richard Williams first approached me. But, in case you haven’t noticed, Richard is much like a bulldog because they share the same characteristics of stamina, strength and persistence! I am glad he was persistent, though, because serving as treasurer of this organization has proven to be a good experience. As I’ve seen the scholarship donations come in I’ve been overwhelmed by the generosity of our alumni. Most of those donors no longer live in the area, so their desire to help the young people from Richland County is very admirable.  I love seeing alumni participate in this worthwhile cause.

I graduated from ERHS in 1977 and each time one of our classmates passes away, our class makes a donation to a local charity. Because of my affiliation with TPAA, the class of 77 now makes those donations to our scholarship drive. I can’t think of a better way to honor the memory of a classmate or a loved one than with a tax-free donation to TPAA. And that is just one of the examples of donations we receive. We have also received donations from class reunion committees that have a little extra money in their coffers. But the majority of donations is from folks who graduated from ERHS and have a desire to support their alma mater.

Whatever your reason, please consider including TPAA in your charitable giving. And while you’re at it, include a little note telling me who you are and when you graduated! I look forward to “knowing” the wonderful folks who support this worthy cause.
